Publication Schedule and Frequency
JBSS uses a continuous-publication model so that a final article may be published when editorial and production requirements are complete rather than being held for artificial issue batching.
Annual volume and issue
The Journal of Biological and Sustainability Sciences publishes one volume for each calendar year and one issue within that annual volume. Articles assigned to the current annual issue are added continuously as they complete peer review, acceptance, production, author proof review and final publication checks.
Continuous publication
- Accepted articles are not intentionally delayed merely to assemble a conventional periodic issue.
- Each final article receives its own permanent article page and bibliographic record when published.
- The publication date shown on the article is the date on which that version of record is formally published by JBSS.
- The Current Issue page is intended to display all articles assigned to the current annual issue.
Schedule integrity
JBSS aims to maintain continuous scholarly publishing during each calendar year. If an exceptional technical, legal, ethical or operational event materially interrupts publication, the journal will not backdate articles to create an appearance of regularity. Published dates will remain accurate and verifiable.
Changes to the publishing model
Any future change to publication frequency, volume or issue structure will be announced prospectively on the journal website and applied consistently to the scholarly record. Previously published volume and issue assignments will not be silently rewritten.
