Indexing and Archiving Policy

Journal of Biological and Sustainability Sciences

Indexing Statement

The Journal of Biological and Sustainability Sciences is committed to improving the visibility, discoverability, accessibility, and long-term availability of published scholarly content.

The journal aims to support indexing and abstracting through complete article metadata, stable article pages, downloadable PDF files, clear journal policies, and transparent publication information.

The journal does not claim inclusion in any indexing database unless the inclusion has been officially confirmed. Any indexing information displayed on the journal website should be accurate, verifiable, and updated when necessary.

Indexing Principles

  • The journal supports transparent, accurate, and responsible indexing of published scholarly content.
  • Published articles are prepared with structured metadata to support discoverability through academic search engines, indexing services, repositories, and citation databases.
  • The journal does not claim inclusion in any indexing database until official acceptance or verification has been completed.
  • Indexing status, where applicable, should be displayed accurately and updated when new services approve or list the journal.

Article Metadata

Each published article should include complete metadata to support indexing, citation, search visibility, and digital archiving.

  • Article title
  • Author names and affiliations
  • Corresponding author information
  • Abstract and keywords
  • Article type
  • Journal title
  • Volume, issue, year, and article page or article identifier
  • Publication date
  • DOI or permanent article link, where assigned
  • PDF file and article landing page
  • License and copyright information

Discoverability Features

The journal website is designed to help readers, authors, indexing services, and search engines locate article content.

  • Clear article landing pages
  • Search-engine readable article metadata
  • Stable article URLs
  • Downloadable article PDFs
  • Structured article information including title, authors, abstract, keywords, DOI, volume, issue, and year
  • Internal linking among article pages, journal policies, author guidelines, and editorial information

Abstracting and Indexing Services

JBSS may apply to relevant indexing and abstracting services after meeting their technical, editorial, ethical, publication-frequency, and quality requirements.

Possible indexing and discovery targets may include academic search engines, scholarly repositories, journal directories, citation databases, and subject-specific abstracting services. Inclusion is always subject to the independent evaluation and acceptance criteria of each service.

The journal will avoid misleading claims such as “indexed in” or “listed in” unless the indexing service has officially accepted or verified the journal or its articles.

Digital Archiving Policy

The journal supports responsible digital archiving to preserve scholarly content and maintain long-term access.

  • Published articles are maintained on the official journal website.
  • Article PDFs and metadata are stored through the journal publishing platform.
  • Authors may deposit the published version of record in institutional repositories, personal academic pages, and scholarly profiles with proper citation.
  • The journal may deposit or preserve content in recognized repositories, indexing systems, digital preservation services, and publisher-controlled archives.
  • The journal aims to maintain long-term accessibility of published content even if website structures or technology platforms change.

Author Self-Archiving Policy

Authors are encouraged to share and archive their published work responsibly to increase access and scholarly visibility.

  • Authors may share the published version of record after publication.
  • Repository copies should cite the original journal publication.
  • Repository records should include article title, authors, journal title, year, volume, issue, DOI or official URL, and license information.
  • Authors should not modify the published version in a way that changes the scholarly record.

Long-Term Availability

The journal aims to maintain stable access to published article pages, metadata, and PDF files. Article records should remain accessible through official journal pages and appropriate archive systems.

If website structure, domain configuration, hosting provider, or platform technology changes, the journal will aim to preserve article access, metadata accuracy, and citation continuity.

Where DOI assignment is available, DOI links should be maintained and updated to point to the correct article landing page.

Metadata Corrections

Accurate metadata is important for citation, indexing, discovery, and archiving. Authors should review article metadata carefully before publication.

If an error is identified in article title, author name, affiliation, DOI, abstract, keywords, volume, issue, year, or other metadata, the editorial office may correct the record after verification.

Responsibilities

  • The journal is responsible for maintaining accurate article metadata on the official website.
  • Authors are responsible for providing complete and correct manuscript information during submission.
  • The editorial office may correct metadata errors after publication when necessary.
  • Indexing services may require time to harvest, verify, or update article records.
  • Inclusion in indexing services depends on the policies, criteria, and independent decisions of those services.
